About SharePhotos.us

SharePhotos.us is a flexible web application for sharing photos with people you trust.
  • You can upload high-resolution photos, organize them into albums, and share them with other users and invited guests.
  • Only you can delete photos that you upload.
  • You may borrow albums and photos that other users share.
  • Users and guests may comment on photographs; comments can be modified or deleted by their creators.
  • You can edit or delete comments made by your guests.
  • The owner of a photograph can delete comments made by others.
  • You may download photos shared with you, but you may use them for NON-COMMERCIAL PURPOSES ONLY unless you arrange otherwise with photographers. SharePhotos.us will not become involved in contracts or negotiations.
  • Please credit photographers whenever you use their photos, if at all possible. Ask if you have any doubts.
  • Notwithstanding anything written above, administrators may delete comments, photos, guests, albums, or even user accounts
for content or actions that the administrators deem objectionable.
  • If administrators become aware of any illegal use of SharePhotos.us, they will report offending accounts to law enforcement.

SharePhotos.us is NOT not a good way to archive your photos; keep your original files safely stored elsewhere!

In uploading photos to SharePhotos.us, you grant permission to other users and guests to view and download your photos. Do not use SharePhotos.us if you do not want to grant others that much access to your photos.

SharePhotos.us uses email addresses to send necessary messages regarding account setup, password reset requests, and setting up guest accounts. If another user grants you guest access to a new group, their use of your email address lets us detect that you are already a user and just grant you additional access. SharePhotos.us does not use ANY information you provide for ANY marketing purposes.

SharePhotos.us is a personal project, not a commercial product.
One person is the designer, programmer, documentation writer, and bug fixer.
Please understand that security for SharePhotos.us will not be up to the standards of commercial products.
If you choose to use SharePhotos.us, you do so at your own risk.

John Barstow started developing SharePhotos.us in February 2017, borrowing essential logic from the "sample application" from
the Ruby on Rails Tutorial, a book and screencast series that Michael Hartl created to teach web development with Ruby on Rails.
